Born in Hannover, Germany on 1/15/1931. Went to the Philippines with my mom in late 1937 to rejoin my father.
Mom's name was Charlotte and dad's was Martin. We survived the Japanese occupation 1942-1945. An indelible sight was American air raids from September 1944 onwards. Several hundred carrier planes high overhead is an unforgettable sight. Also raids by B-24 bombers. That kindled an undying love for aviation. Thank God for the US military armed forces.
Left Manila, PI in late 1950 and have lived in the US ever since. Served in the US Army 1955-1957.
