Katherine M. Grendell graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering in June 2003. She received both junior and senior level scholarships from the Ohio Space Grant Consortium (2003/2003) and won the American Institute of Aeronautics Association (AIAA) Region III undergraduate student paper conference in April 2003. Katherine worked in the Propulsion Division of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base from March 2001 to July 2003 as a co-operative education student and worked in scramjet research. She has been active with AIAA at the University of Cincinnati and was part of the team that won the 2003 undergraduate team space design competition. She's a space enthusiast and has an interest in space history. In 2003 she began working on a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
