    Major(R) Satterfield was raised in an Air Force family. His father was a US Air Force aircraft mechanic. He loved building aircraft models and learning the history of the aircraft his father maintained.

    Ken is a Master Army Aviator with more than 12,700 rotary wing flight hours. He is qualified in OH23,TH13, UH-1B,D,H, AH-1G and OH-58A,C model aircraft. He instructed in the UH-1 Huey and the OH-58 Kiowa.

    He joined the US Army in 1966, was commissioned in 1967 and completed US Army Rotary Wing Aviation Course in 1968. He flew the AH-1Cobra in the Mekong Delta, Republic of Viet Nam while assigned to 7/1 Air Cavalry Squadron in 1969.

    After retiring from the Army, Ken continued his aviation career; becoming a Department of the Army Civilian Flight Instructor at the US Army Aviation School, Ft Rucker, Alabama. He instructed both day/night and night vision goggle combat skill phrases of instruction. He retired in 2008 and lives in Enterprise, AL.
