Mr Block attended University of Florida and later went into the corporate aircraft business in Huntsville, AL and Atlanta, GA. He became an associate of W.P. Lear, Sr. when Mr. Lear was engaged in the business aircraft radio manufacturing industry in Grand Rapids, MI and was a marketing advisor to Mr. Lear during the formation of Lear Jet Corp.

He later became a dealer for Lear, and then a distributor for Fairchild Aircraft for 7 southeastern states operating from Atlanta. For more than 30 years he headed this business and distinguished himself as a pilot, business leader and civic leader in Atlanta during its years of explosive growth between 1960 and 1990.

He was married to Alexe Mendel of Savannah, and was father to five children.
