    Larry's interest in aviation and airplanes started with his tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps. He attended formal aircraft training schools in Jacksonville, Florida and Memphis, Tennessee. He was then stationed at Marine Air Corps Stations in El Toro, California with MARS17 and Iwakuni, Japan with VMR253.

    After earning his Airframe and Powerplant License, Larry was an aircraft mechanic and maintenance supervisor and manager for 31 years for Pan American World Airways at (Idlewild) J F Kennedy International Airport, Dulles International Airport, Palisadoes Airport in Kingston, Jamaica and Roberts Field-Airport in Liberia, West Africa. While at ROB he held an Airframe and Powerplant Designated Mechanic Examiner Certificate of Authority issued by the FAA. After retiring from Pan Am he was a mechanic and lead mechanic for 10 years with Delta Airlines at JFK and Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, Ga.
