    Dr. Larry Elton Fletcher, dob. 8-15-43, served in the U.S. Air Force from June 1968 to August 1973, attaining the rank of captain. During a 12 month tour of duty in Vietnam, 1/Lt. fletcher flew 177 combat missions as an Attack C-119 Shadow gunship pilot. He was awarded the DFC with Oak Leaf Clusters for aerial combat actions in direct support of the Force Armie Nationale Khmeras (Cambodian Army). Nominated for Pacific Air Forces Outstanding Junior Officer of the year, Lt. Fletcher was assigned to the 17th Special Operations Squadron’s Fighting C Flight station at Tan Sen Nhut Air Base, Saigon, Republic of Vietnam. Dr. Fletcher is the published author of Shadows of Saigon, a novel telling the story of air commandos conducting special operations after the 1970 incursion into Cambodia.
