    Lt. Commander George W. Britt, US Naval Reserve Retired, completed Naval Aviator training and was commissioned at Pensacola, Florida in February 1945. He completed Martin PBM Mariner operational training at Naval Air Station (NAS), San Diego, California in August 1945. He was stationed at NAS Boca Chica Key West until January 1946, before being transferred to Naval Air Training Station, NAS Honolulu flying R5D Skymasters in the South Pacific until June 1947. He was involved in Operation Crossroads, A-bomb tests in the Marshall Islands in 1946. He was with Air traffic control with the Federal Aviation Authority until 1951, when he began a 33 year career as an air line pilot with Eastern Airlines. He retired in 1984.
