June 1942 joined Naval Aviation Cadet Training Program in St. Louis, MO.
August 1943 received wings of gold at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. Served as carrier airborne fighter pilot during WWII. Performed NASA Safety Program at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Cal Tech 1966-1976.
