James Puckett joined the U.S. Navy from NROTC at the University of Colorado in 1990. He graduated from advanced jet training in Kingsville, Texas and was designated a Naval Aviator.
Flew T-34C Mentor, T-2 Buckeye, TA-4J Skyhawk, T-45A Goshawk, and S-3B Viking. Transitioned to Cryptology and entered the Naval Reserve.
Married to Jennifer Thomson, they have two children, Morgan and Chase.
