    Honored by:

As Safety Officer of VA-195 (a Navy aircraft attack squadron), originated the idea of using reflective tape on pilots’ helmets to facilitate recovery at sea. After retirement, he conceived and developed the T-34C and T-44A turbine trainer aircraft, and participated in the design of the “total contractor support program” to support these aircraft in service. He was also involved in the selecting of the C-12B utility aircraft for the Navy and Marine Corps.

At General Dynamics, he was a member of the A-12 design team. He also conducted supersonic Stove Pipe fighter studies, which later led to the Joint Strike Fighter program.
