LCDR John X. Carrier II, USN (Ret), my son-in-law, graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1969, and earned his wings as a fighter pilot in 1970. During his active career he flew F-4s, F-8s, and F-14s, serving sea tours on Oriskany, Ranger, Independence, and America aircraft carriers.

He retired in 1989 after final tours as Chief Test Pilot at the Norfolk Aircraft Repair Facility, and as a flight instructor at the Meridian Naval Air Station where he now is an instructor in the flight simulator facility.
