    Joined the U.S. Navy Reserve in 1954. Was accepted into the Naval Aviation Cadet Program in 1955. Was graduated as an Ensign Naval Aviator, assigned to Alameda Naval Air Station, further assigned to Sea Plane duty in the PSM. Served in Spain, Philippines, Puerto Rico and flew missions to Vietnam in 1960s.Retired from the U.S. Navy in 1975. Logged over 5000 hours of flying time in many Navy planes.
