    In 1946, LCDR Thomas A. Glasgow had his first airplane flight as a passenger from Hamilton AFB to DCA as "Sacred Cow" General Hap Arnold provided space on an available flight. In 1952, LCDR Glasgow reported to NAS Pensacola as a student naval aviator. In 1953, RADM Dale Harris CNABT pinned on his wings of gold as a Naval Aviator. His flying experience is summarized below:

    1954 - Air Anti Submarine Squadron 32 at NAS Quonset Point, RI

    1958 - Reported to NAS Pensacola as a flight instructor

    1961 - Reported to U S Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA for Line School
    Checked out in T2J first jet qualification
    1962 - Reported aboard USS Coral Sea as Assistant Navigator
    Qualified as OOD and CDO underway, task force steaming
    1964 - Reported to NAS Alameda, CA as Personnel Officer
    1965 – Retired

    Prior Enlisted Service
    In 1944, LCDR Glasgow enlisted at NRS Philadelphia. He attended recruit training and Signalman School at NTC Bainbridge, MD. In LION VIII, he trained in various aspects of amphibious warfare and landed at Okinawa's Buckner Bay HECP. After VJ day, he participated in the Imperial Mine Sweep, Izumi Nada, Japan. From 1946 - 1949, he served as a Signalman & Electronics Technician on USS TERROR & USS MCCOMB. He attended Electronics School USNTC Great Lakes, IL and NRL Washington, DC. From 1949 - 1952, he served as an Electronics Technician at NAMC, Mustin Field. He applied and was accepted for Flight Training and was recommissioned on USS JENKINS DDE 447 at USNSY Mare Island. He completed shakedown and transit to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and was then transferred to NAS Pensacola, Florida. In summary, LCDR Thomas A. Glasgow, USN (Ret) served his country as a navy pilot. His exemplary service is consistent with the standards for the National Aviation and Space Exploration Wall of Honor.
