    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Ms. Bonnie L. Nichols

My husband, Lee Nichols, had learned to fly at a little airport when he was 16. Although he didn’t get his Private Pilot rating then, he never lost his love for flying. So, a few years later, he opened an airport on our farm, where many got their licenses from private pilots to instructors and where they could hanger their planes. A flight breakfast was held each year on Labor Day, always well attended, to promote aviation.
Earl W. Barnhart, CFI, started instructing at our field and taught many students to fly, some of whom are now airline and corporate pilots, including his son and our two sons.
