    Leslie L. Bordelon is currently retired and serving as the President of the Board of Directors for the International Foundation for Telemetering.
    He is a former member of the Department of Defense Senior Executive Service having served as the executive director, Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. He was the principal deputy to the center commander with extensive authority for broad management, policy development, decision making and effective program execution of the center's development, test and evaluation mission. His role as an executive manager involved long- and short-range planning, policy development, the determination of program and center goals, including those involving scientific and technical matters, and the overall management of the Edwards Air Force Base complex.
    After serving five years on active duty with the Air Force, Bordelon entered the civilian work force in 1975 as a facility electrical engineer for the Titan II weapon system at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. He has more than 42 years of weapon system acquisition experience in program management, engineering and test including positions as functional manager, chief engineer, engineering division chief, project manager and project officer. He served as the chief engineer and primary technical manager for the Peacekeeper weapon system deployment at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo.; was a key architect of the Air Force Materiel Command integrated weapon system management and systems engineering processes; and served as both director of program management and director of systems acquisition, Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif, in the acquisition of Air Force satellite and launch systems. He was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 1994.
    Bordelon retired from the Air Force Reserve in the rank of colonel in May 1998. In his last Reserve assignment he was the senior Reserve assistant to the director of engineering and technical management at Air Force Materiel Command.

    MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
    1. Successful completion of numerous high profile testing activities including F-22, Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV), Joint Stike Fighter flyoff, B-1, B-2, B-52, C-130J, and C-17.
    2. Development of the first technical roadmap for aerospace vehicle testing at Edwards for the next 20 years. This was expanded into a roadmap for all testing within the Air Force and a true strategic plan for Air Force Test and Evaluation.
    3. Initiated the first Air Force Test and Evaluation Summit to define development test and evaluations requirements for the future.
    4. Initiated efforts to define and establish guidelines for Verification and Validation of Network Enabled Systems for NATO through the Systems Concepts and Integration Panel activities of NATO Research and Technology Agency.
    5. Reestablished the mission assurance program for all Air Force space launches requiring formal certification of readiness to lauch prior to lauch actions progressing.
    6. Invigorated systems engineering as a discipline in the Air Force space programs to include an improved requirements definition process, updated documentation, and better focused training.
    7. Initiated the first National Space Infosec Steering Council with NSA to better define, coordinate and communicate space information assurance and security requirements and capabilities.
    8. Completion of assembly, checkout, installation, and deployment of the Peacekeeper ICBM on schedule and below cost including full nuclear certification prior to turnover to operater.
    9. Refined and documented the systems enginneering and software capability evaluation processes for AFMC providing the foundation for AFMC processes today.
