Louise Van Kirk was born June 7, 1912 in Danville, PA. On July 21st, 1933, Louise Van Kirk was the first female in central PA to receive a permit to take flying instructions. She made her first solo flight on September 9th or 10th, 1933 at Bloomsburg Airport, Bloomsburg, PA.
