Anthony Palopoli took his first flying lesson at 16 years old. While in college, he joined the United States Air Force to fight in World War II. He was stationed with the 8th Air Force at Duxford, England and flew 70 missions over Germany in his P51D Mustang "Little Joe" including the last mission on April 25, 1945 to bomb Hitler's home, The Berghof.
After the war, he became a meteorologist and Commander of the Weather Station at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. In 1965, he retired after 22 years of service.
Married for 60 years, he lost his beloved wife, Georgina, in 2011. Anthony is 95 and still going strong. He lives at his daughter's house in Newark, Delaware.
