    Lt Col Brock “Hoot” Gibson (Ret, USAF) was born in Sumter, SC in 1959. He attended the University of Texas at El Paso and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University earning a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Science and Bachelor’s degree in Management. He retired in 2005 from a distinguished 21-year career in the United States Air Force after honorably serving his country. As a pilot in the United States Air Force, he flew numerous supersonic jet and turbo-prop aircraft. His flight qualifications included Pilot, Instructor Pilot, Evaluator Pilot, and Command Pilot. As a Production Test Pilot, he became the second pilot in the entire Air Force qualified in the T-1A Jayhawk flying the acceptance tests at the factory as the new aircraft were delivered to the USAF. Gibson held a multitude of military officer leadership positions including Flight Commander, Wing Operations Officer, Chief of Standardization and Evaluation, Aide-de-Camp to the Commander in Chief, and Commander of SOUTHAF Counterdrug Operations. His assignments included CONUS and OCONUS operational and executive staff tours with the USAF, Navy, Army, Department of State, Joint Forces Command, US Forces Korea, Combined Forces Command and the United Nations Command. Brock is currently the Vice President of Operations & Logistics Support at Insitu, Inc. His division and its staff support the management, execution and sustainment of proprietary, major government and international military service and acquisition unmanned aircraft systems operations. He also oversees the company’s deployable force and more than 300 employees, UAS ground and flight training, flight test operations, mission support, technical publications, standardization and evaluation and the flight demonstration team. Gibson also holds Federal Aviation Administration aeronautical ratings for Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot multi-engine instrument, Airline Transport Pilot and an Experimental Aircraft Repairman’s Certificate. Lt Col Gibson (Ret) remains active in the outdoors where he lives in the scenic Columbia River Gorge with his lovely wife Diana of 31 years. He has 2 married daughters, Shari and Kati who also live nearby. The family enjoys yachting around waters of the Pacific Northwest and Canada, snow skiing, motorcycle riding, building and flying experimental aircraft, aerobatic flying as well as regular cross-country flights.
