Chuck went to Canada in 1940, joined the Eagle Squadron, and was sent to England, where he flew the Spitfire in the Battle of Britain.
When America entered the war in 1941, he was transferred to the Eight Air Force and flew P-41, as Squadron Commander of 356359 Fighter Squadron. He was shot down over Belgium in 1944 and went into the underground.
