Mr. Philip Ziperman
Lt. Col. Herbert Ziperman was stationed on Guam from May1945 until the end of the end of the war. He was in the 332nd Bomb Wing of the 20th Air Force flying the B-29 “Rude Nude”. He completed ten missions as a navigator targeting Japanese oil refineries. Lt. Col. Ziperman was awarded an Air Medal, the Asia Pacific Medal and several citations. He was in the air when the A-Bomb was dropped and flew the last mission over Japan.
