    Honored by:

    * Before and early in World War II, worked at Douglas and Lockheed aircraft companies.
    * Joined the Army Air Corps in August 1942; pilot training on the West Coast.
    * Flew B-17s in 16 combat missions over Germany; shot down over Mersburg on 2 Nov 1944; held as POW at Stalag Luft-III in Sagan, Germany, and in at Stalag VII A in Moosberg, Germany.
    * In 1948 Berlin airlift, assigned a mobile radar tracking station in Hof, Germany.
    * In 1949 assigned to the 36th Fighter Group/Wing in Germany, flew P/F80s and F84Gs.
    * In 1952 assigned as an Air Defense Command fighter squadron’s unit Maintenance Officer. Flew F-86s, F-102s, and the mach 2 F-106.
    * In 1963 assigned to Headquarters Air Defense Command on the Maintenance staff. Flew small jet transports.
    * In Vietnam 1970-1971 commanded the 20th Tactical Support Squadron, flew OV10s.
    * Retired 1 May 1971.
    * Medals received: Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, Air Medal with clusters, campaign medals.
    * Currently (2004) volunteering two days a week at Hill AFB, Utah.
    * Will be buried at Camp Williams, Utah, Veterans Memorial Park.
