    JARVIS A. STRONG, JR, born in Oberlin, Ohio 5 December 1917. Three years in
    Oberlin College, Ohio and completed his college education for a degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, NE in 1961. His military career spanned 24 years from February 1941 until retirement in August 1964.

    His total pilot time just exceeds 5,000 hours of safe accident free time. His combat experiences were the first 9 months of World War II (WWII) patrolling the Atlantic Coast and 9 months in 1945 flying B-24s out of Italy.

    He has piloted 31 of the aircraft models located the USAF Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

    He flew many missions on the Berlin Airlift in the C-47 & C-54 aircraft.

    His foreign tours include Italy, Germany, Japan, and Korea.

    After his military retirement he spent 18 years working for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, mostly in providing low frequency radio equipment and electronic countermeasures systems to the USAF.

    Jarvis, who died 30 July 2013, had a wife, five children, and six grandchildren of whom he was very proud.
