LtCol Lynch flew B-17s in the European Theater out of Northern Italy. He was in the 20th Bomb Squadron and the 19th Air Force. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross as well as the Purple Heart while in action. He also received the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
LtCol Lynch is buried at the National Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
