    Col. Reese served as fighter pilot during WW II, Korea, Vietnam, over 28 years of active duty. He was shot down during WW II and was a POW for a number of months till war's end. Col Reese distinguished himself during his career and was credited with shooting down a German BF 109 during WWII. During his career he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 10 Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, AF Commendation Medal, Distinguished Unit Presidential Citations, Belgium Croix De Guerre, and numerous theater medals and awards.
