    Terry Buettner graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1967, and then spent 26 years as an Air Force pilot. He flew the Douglas EB-66 reconnaissance aircraft during the Vietnam Conflict earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. He served as an air liaison officer for the Army's 82nd Airborne Division during the hostilities in Grenada, Panama, and the First Gulf War. He piloted the Cessna T-37, Northrop T-38 and F-5, and McDonnell F-4 for a total of over 4,000 hours.
