Navy Lt. Cmdr. M. Donald Darrohn was a flight trainer before he was assigned to fly supply planes in the Pacific in World War II. On his way back to the mainland, he flew the wounded home. His love of lying endured until he passed away in 1999. It began when he saw the movie “Wings” as a young man. He served in the navy Reserve for 20 years after World War II.
