Dad's last training and operational billet in World War II was with Norden bombsights and B 29s. His squadron was loaded (with all their personal and squadron gear) in their B-29s and were flying to Hawaii the day the Japs surrendered. After one day in Hawaii they were to be forward deployed for strategic bombing of Japan.
