WWII Torpedo Bomber Pilot, United States Navy.
Active Naval Aviation Reserve Pilot (VF-935) 1946 tol964. Flew the F6F Hellcat,
F4U Corsair, FH-1 Phantom, F9F-6 Cougar and the FJ-3 Fury. Charter service owner/operator. Worked his way through college as a crop duster pilot. Piloted DC3's and smaller craft for Aero Service Corporation. Engaged in aerial
mapping, photography and geophysical surveying while towing a magnetometer. While working for the United States Department of Agriculture from 1960 into the
1980's, he was an advocate and developer of radio guidance for aerial
application of insecticides. Recognized by the Secretary of Agriculture
for this and other methods of crop pest control developed during his tenure with
USDA. Advocated keeping the College Park Airport, the oldest continually operating airport
in the world, open and operating while local interests worked to close it
during the 1970's. Chairman of College Park Airport Authority. Elected President of the Field of Firsts Foundation, the fund raising organization of the
College Park Aviation Museum, in 1999. Currently maintains aviation instructors rating for single and multi-engine aircraft and instruments.
