Lt (JG) “Bud” Poirier joined the United States Navy during World War II. After becoming an officer, he trained as a Naval Aviator in the N2S, SNB-1, OS2U, and SNB-2.
Lt. Poirier was eventually trained in the PV-1 “Ventura” bomber and went to fight in the “Forgotten War”: the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. “Bud” received two Air Medals and other citations for his service. “Bud” was from Glendale, California.
