Lt Wiffiam B. Bleakley (1921-1987) served in the U.S. Army Air Forces as an aircraft maintenance officer for North American B-25s and Boeing B-17s from 1943 to 1945. After World War II he was Professor and later Assistant Dean of the College of Petroleum Technology at the University of Tulsa. He became a prominent figure in the national and international petroleum industry, eventually becoming Editor-in-Chief of Petroleum Engineer International magazine.
