    Lt. William C. Craig, M.D., Flight Surgeon with the United States Army Air Forces in the Southwest Pacific was killed in action April 28, 1944. His plane was shot down over New Ireland. He was in charge of a base hospital in New Zealand and later assigned a medium bomber group.

    Born in Scotland, PA, July 18, 1910 he graduated from Ohio State Medical College in 1935. Before entering the service he practiced medicine in Waynesboro, PA.

    His wife, Eleanor Laughlin Craig, of Columbus, OH, survived him. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
