He was graduated from the military academy at West Point in January 1943. He flew P-47s in the Pacific against the Japanese for 2 years in what was then the Army Air Forces. Later on in his career when he was stationed in California, he was involved for a time with the space program out of Vandenberg Air Force Base. He died November 4, 1989.
