    Ltc. Edward G. Porterfield
    Edward G. Porterfield received his Regular Army commission as Distinguised Military Graduate (DMG) from Middle Tennessee State College in 1960. After serving his required two year tour in a combat arm he attended rotary wing flight school in class 63-2 at Camp Wolters, Texas and phase 2 at Fort Rucker, Alabama, and graduated in 1963.
    Ed served three tours of duty in VietNam with the 93rd Trans, 121 AHC and 80th Trans in 1963-64; Ist Air Cav Division, 15th TC in 1967-68; Eagle CAB 1972-73.
    Between VietName tours, Ed served as Senior Tac Officer at the Warrant Officer Flight Training Course, platform and flight instructor at Ft. Wolters, Texas.
    After attending his Branch Career Course, Ed commanded an Aircraft Maintenance Company in Kitzingen, Germany, and upon return to the United States was senior instructor at the Senior Officer Preventitive Maintenance Course at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.
    Ed attended Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, in the class of 1976.
    In 1976, Ed became Program Manager for the UH-60 Blackhawk flight simulator and later was Chief, Aviation Division for the Program Manager for Training Devices in Orlando, Florida.
    Ed’s last active duty assignment was Inspector General, 19th Support Command, Taegu, Korea, from 1979 to 1981.
    In addition to numerous awards and commendations, Ed was awarded two Bronze Star medals and 15 Air Medals.
    Ed continued to work in the training and aircraft simulation industry after retiring with positions with Northrup Services, Link Simulation, Lockheed Martin and Analysis and Technology.
    Ed and Marsha are now enjoying retirement in Deland, Florida.
