    My mother, Catherin McFarland Dwight took me on a 15-minute flight in a Ford Tri-motor sightseeing tour around the city of Burlington, Iowa, in 1927.
    Upon graduation from Grinnell College, IA, on June 9, 1941, I left for Jefferson Barracks, MO to be sworn into USAAC. Then to Sikeston, MO, training in Stearmans PT-18; in rapid order to Brady, TX B7-14, Brooks Field, TX T-6s, due to impaired color perception my bars and wings were delayed from 1-19-42 to 2-20-42.
    In order of aircraft and places: O-52, B24C, B24D -- all in Texas. B-24E Casper, WY then to 459 BG, 15 AF B-24G - B24J - K - L, then 2nd BW B-17, VE & VJ in ETO Home.
    Recalled to Berlin Airlift - 654, 5 years Air Rescue CA and Hawaii, C-47, SA-16
