Distinguished Flying Cross Recipient credited with 68 combat missions in the Martin B-26 Marauder as co-pilot and unlimited first pilot with the 497th Squadron of the 344th Bomb Group from March 1944 to Mid-February 1945. DFC and Purple Heart Awarded for a 20June 1944 Mission to a bomb a flying bomb site in Northern France.
