My husband was an Army aviator, both fixed wing and rotary winged qualified, also a master aviator.
He served in Vietnam for three tours. His first tour was CO of transportation co-arming the first helicopters on Okinawa to go to Vietnam in the fall of 1962. His second tour in Vietnam was from December 1967 to January 1968 on the Corpus Christie Bay, a floating aircraft maintenance repair ship, situated in Vung Tau, Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star from the Command General Staff College. Graduated OCS on December 17, 1957. Retired on October 31, 1976.
