Honors: two Presidential Citations, 2 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 6 European Theater Battle Stars, French Croix de Guerre with Silver Star, Belgian Fourragere, 20 Air Medals, and one German Occupational Ribbon. By forcing the surrender of General Elster's 20,000 troops, making this the first surrender of an army to air power alone. The second was the Atomic Bomb.
