Ronald H. Cox, President of Aviation Training Management, Inc. has been involved in aviation training for over two decades. As a senior Army aviator, Mr. Cox designed and managed training programs for army aviation units from 1970 to 1980. Following retirement from active duty as a Lt. Colonel, Mr. Cox continued in aviation by managing training programs and fixed-base operation at many schools and colleges in Washington and Florida.
Mr. Cox joined the Piper Aircraft Corporation as an instructor in March of 1988. His exemplary performance led to promotion as Manager of Flight Training. Under his direction, the training center experienced unprecedented growth. The center grew from a staff of 4 teaching 3 aircraft models, to a staff of 13 flight and ground instructors teaching three-, four-, and five-day courses in 17 Piper models. Additionally, Mr. Cox managed the factory maintenance training schools that trained all authorized Piper Service Centers, worldwide. The number of students that completed training through the Piper System quadrupled in size during his tenure to 950 pilots annually.
In May of 1990, Mr. Cox joined Simcom Training Centers as Director of Training. He designed and implemented training programs for the Cessna340 and 400 series; Beechcraft Baron 55, 58, 58P, Duke, and King Air; and Piper Aerostar, Navajo, and Malibu. He standardized all programs and integrated them to comply with Part 135, customer training.
Ronald Cox formed Aviation Training Management, Inc. in March of 1990. After accomplishing his goal to establish Simcom as a major provider of simulation training in the aircraft mentioned above, Mr. Cox resigned from Simcom to devote his full time efforts to ATM.
Mr. Cox has been a guest speaker at Malibu and Aerostar owners' conventions and is recognized as an authority on the aircraft in which he trains.
