    Born 13 Feb. 1923 in Mansfield, Mass. Entered the Army Air Corps Cadet program Oct. 1942. Graduated a fighter pilot March 1944 entered tactical recon training at Meridian Miss Keyfield, Married the former Marthasu Kemp on Oct. 18th 1944 at Keyfield Chapel and assigned to the 82nd Tac. Recon Sqdn, So. Pacific Dec 1944. Flew 100 low level combat recon missions in P-51 Mustang in Philippines and Japan. Flew L-19 Birddog aircraft in Korean War for the 73rd Tank Battalion 1951-1952. Commanded the 57th Aviation Company flying CV-2 Caribou STOL transports during Vietnam War from 1965 -1966. Retired from US Army Special Forces in June 1970 with the rank of LTC and 28 years of service.
