    As an Aircraft Commander, Pilot, of a B-24 "Star-Eyes", Dr. Dyke flew 35 bombing missions over Germany and occupied Europe in 16 weeks.
    Awarded DFC, Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, and Battle and WWII Victory Medals.
    In the ETO he was assigned to 8th Air Force, 2nd Div, 2nd Wing, 453rd BG, 733 Squadron. The 733rd Squadron performed 82 missions without loss of a man or an airplane -- the longest string without loss of any 8th Air Force organization.
    Dyke's first aerial flight was made in the "Winnie Mae" with Wiley Post at the controls.
