    LtCol Arthur Richard Meacham III “Dick” served his country as a Command Pilot for over 20 years. During this period he was stationed at ten (10) Air Force bases, flying four (4) aircraft T-33, T-37, T-38 and F-4. For his heroic actions during combat while stationed at Cam Rahn Bay, RVN, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, the Air Medal with 12 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Silver Stars. Following Vietnam, he returned to Air training Command where he served over 16 years as an Instructor Pilot (T-37, T-38), Field Training Detachment Commander, and an Air Training Command Plans Officer.
