    Entered U.S. Army Air Force in 1944. Graduated 44-J at Luke AAB as a Pilot in a P-47 Thunderbolt. Served in Germany. After war was discharged in 1946.
    Attended University of North Carolina graduated in 1950 with AB Chemistry. Instructed 1951 to 1955 at Spence AFB, Moultrie, GA. as a USAF Basic Instructor Pilot. Squadron Commander 700 MA Squadron, 445 Wing, Military Airlift Command at Dobbins AFB.
    Employed by Southern Airways 1955 and Republic Air Lines and flew as a Captain and Check Airman.
    Flew in his career T-33, F-84, F-86, C-123, C-124, T-6, and T-128.
