Fell in love with flying as a young teenager. Earned private pilot license through CPTP in college. Greatest dream was to join WASP but was rejected for ¥ inch of height. As a result, enlisted USAAF in 1944.
Worked in various assignments, including aircraft mechanic. Was commissioned a 1st Lt. in 1951. Remained on active duty for 26 years. Served at numerous bases in the US – only overseas assignment was Alaska.
Retired as Lt Col, USAF, Logistics Staff Officer in 1970, at Langley AFB.
