It was my pleasure to enter the Army Air Corps and finish a full service career in the United States Air Force. My contribution was carried out in three wars during which I was a pilot, senior pilot, command pilot, and instructor pilot. My core activity was as an operations officer. My pilot qualifications included a glider, a helicopter, a jet trainer, many twin engine airplanes, including the C-7A Caribou and the B-26 Night Intruder in combat, and the C-130 Hercules. Many hours were flown in the C-47 “Gooney” Bird.
