    Gary E. Lange was born August 16, 1934 in Los Angeles, California. He earned a BS in Business Administration from UCLA in 1956 and was commissioned through the AFROTC program upon graduation. He completed Pilot Training in Class 58C at Webb AFB, TX in 1957 followed by the Officers Personnel Course at Lackland AFB. Before active duty, he had been an enlisted man in the 146 ANG, Van Nuys, CA.
    His overseas tours of duty included: OIC Airmen’s Personnel SAMAP Clark AB, PI 1958-60; Standardization Pilot (C-47) 1ACS Bien Hoa AB, RVN, 1965-66; OIC Airlift Combat Ops DOL 7AF Tan Son Nhut AB, RVN; 1972; Executive Officer USAFLO/CINCPACREP/DODREP Australia, 1972-76.
    His decorations included a DFC (Duc Co, RVN), Bronze Star (RVN), 13 Air Medals, a Commendation Medal, Combat Crew Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (4 Bronze Stars), etc.
    He received a BA in Oriental History, Univ. of Philippines (1960); MS in Management, Univ. of Colorado (1966). He completed SOS & ICAF through correspondence. Retired from service in 1980 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He now lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife Catherine and two children.
