    Born in Missouri, 1921--Warner Robins, GA 2000; Entered the Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet in 1941. As a Hump Pilot flew the C46 on 23 missions over the Himalayan Mountains. Later, flew th e C54 during the Berlin Air Lift. While stationed at Ruislip A.F.B./London 1950-54 he was the designated pilot and Aircraft Commander for General James C. Selser. His career included tours in Burma, China, India, England, Germany and Japan. A Command Pilot with just on 10,000 flying hours in 26 different Air Force planes. Awarded the Commendation Medal twice with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. Many assignments within the USA. He was stationed at Westover A.F.B. HQ 8th AF Massachusetts in 1956, when he married the former Olive Edna Wells. Edna was born in England, they met in London. Shared 44 years together. Col. Davis retired September 1969 serving 28+ years. Col. Davis is buried at Andersonvi11e National Cemetery, GA.
