    US Navy 1942-1945; flew Douglas SBD, Grumman TBF-1, and Grumman F4F in Pacific during World War II (WWII) in island campaign. Was a Navy enlisted pilot.

    Transferred to United States Air Force (USAF) in 1948. Flew P-51 Mustang (1948-1949).

    In Korea flew Boeing B-29 Superfortress and B-50.

    USAF 55th Strategic Recon Wing (1954-1963) flying RB-47.

    1963-1966 Commander of Strategic Air Command (SAC) reconnaissance detachment, Eielson AFB, AK.

    1967-1968, SAC Hq staff (Intelligence Directorate).

    1969-1970 Vietnam flying B-52 missions out of Guam.

    1971-1972 Mather AFB, CA. Retired July 1972.
