Early in his 23 years of active duty (1951 - 1974), LtCol Jack C. Snead, USAF (Ret) flew as a navigator and radar bombardier on B-29 and B-36 aircraft. In subsequent assignments, he performed electronic and astronautical engineering duties in the development of inertial sensors and systems for navigation and guidance. Later, in the employ of aerospace industry organizations, he has provided engineering support for Joint Services programs in avionics technologies. He has also been active in the Institute of Navigation.
