Son of USAF WWII veteran, Wilbur W. McEntire (TSGT, USAF Ret – deceased). Born on Carswell AFB, Fort Worth, Texas, 16 August 1948, during the era of the Strategic Air Command. Grew up around SAC aircraft. Joined the Air Force in 1971, commissioned 1971, received aeronautical rating of Navigator in 1972 and Electronic Warfare rating in 1973. Flew the F-105G Wild Weasel aircraft in Nevada and Thailand, the B-52D aircraft at Carswell AFB, TX, the RC-135M at Offutt AFB, Nebraska and the RC-135S at Eielson, AFB, AK. Awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Air Force Commendation Medals and three Air Medals. Retired 1 July 1994.
