Flight training, San Antonio, 1940. Pilot B-17s – 6th Heavy Bomb Group, Salt Lake City.
Sent to Martin Factory to learn to fly B-26s in 1941.
Deployed to the Aleutians in January 1942, 77th Medium Bomb Squadron, Squadron Commanding Officer (CO), 77th Bomb Squadron.
Awarded DSC for action against Japanese at Kiska, Asst S-3, 4th Air Force 1944 – 1946
